Band MaterijaGrupa Matērija

“Matērija” (Matter) is an instrumental trio based in Riga, built around 80s-inspired synth patterns, flute shaped by effect pedals, distorted siren-like vocals, and the youthful drive of a live drum set. Their music moves between dense electronic clusters and intimate, near-acoustic moments created by dry flute tones, muted drums, clean bass, and deliberate silence. Layered loops expand into orchestral textures, while organic found sounds add fragile details before the music gradually deconstructs into processed noise.

Since forming in 2024, Matērija have been actively performing, while developing their debut album.

Ieva Krolle — traditional and ethnic flutes. Flow.

Normunds Lukša — bass, keyboards, electronics. Structure.
